the internets are silly and petty

a forum in which i participate has a "feud" on with another website. even though that website provides a great service to the same community served by the forum, the website and its proprietor are not only non grata, the mere mention of them is cause for the forum moderators to edit, close, and delete posts/threads.

"the site that shall not be named" is the silly way that the site is referenced, and a bit of further, unplanned and coincidental research revealed that another guy, who has some small association with "the the site that shall not be named", and who also seems rather influential in "the field" is banned from the forum, mainly for his association, and no further offense that i could find (not that i looked too hard).

the internets are a weird place. but then, as i said to a coworker yesterday when he called me weird, i suppose i'm sitting in a glass house.
