more blah blah blah
i've decided to learn to make cocktails, because:
2 parts it was an excuse to buy a bottle of bourbon
1 part i get to buy gear, and i like gear
3 parts i don't know how to make cocktails and i don't like not knowing things
a dash of this guy at work who i shamelessly copy mentioned that he made one last week
garnished with a twist of buying new glassware, which i also like
...
first attempt: the manhattan.
the bourbon was Russel's Reserve, which seemed to overpower everything else, but not necessarily in a bad way. It made a poor digestif but wasn't terribly hard to make acceptably well.
