party hardy
threw a party this weekend. i guess that's something i do now.
also something i do: provide beer for parties. this time, the beer was far better than the beer i served at the wedding (depending on who you ask). it was also an actual beer, and not just "tea".
this is the first time i've had my beers sampled simultaneously by so many people. we had on tap the Black Death and the ORA. i've had mixed reviews in the past on the BD, but this time, the feedback was olverwhelmingly positive, even from some fellow homebrewers. that is encouraging, it was very experimental. they're positive about my ideas for improvement, too.
the ORA was disappointing in that there was no rye flavor component, and it wasn't red. yesterday's brew is more reddish, maybe, but overshoot. i still have yet to make a ruby beer.
aside from the lack of rye and red, it was also a big hit. it was "the one that doesn't knock you on your ass" (unlike the Black Death). anyhow, i'm kinda jazzed that it was appreciated, and felt like noting this before i forget it.
